Fees
This is an example of how fees work in a typical Buyer/Seller transaction in the eXcesS Capacity marketplace.
As a Seller you may offer Buyers payment via one of the following payment gateway options
1. PayPal
2. Stripe
3. PayPal and Stripe
—PayPal Fee Example—
In the eXcesS Capacity marketplace fees are charged to the Seller only when the Seller accepts a payment authorized by the Buyer via PayPal for an item listed by the Seller for rent or for sale in the eXcesS Capacity marketplace. A Seller elects to offer Buyers payment via PayPal when the Seller wants to receive payment prior to exchanging a product or service with a Buyer.
The eXcesS Capacity Administration fee to the Seller is 10% of the total sale price. eXcesS Capacity Administration does not charge the Buyer any fees. In addition to the eXcesS Capacity Administration fee PayPal charges the Seller 2.9% of the total sale price amount plus a set fixed transaction fee of $0.30.
When a Seller accepts payment authorized by the Buyer via PayPal for an item listed by the Seller for rent or for sale in the eXcesS Capacity marketplace, the entire payment amount is moved from the Buyer’s account to the Seller’s PayPal account, minus PayPal’s payment processing fees. In a separate transaction the eXcesS Capacity Administration fee is automatically deducted from the Seller’s PayPal account and deposited into the eXcesS Capacity Administrator’s PayPal account.
A. PayPal micropayment fee enabled in the Marketplace Administrator’s PayPal account.
A micropayment fee applies when the marketplace fee is $10.00 or less.
For example, if a Seller lists an item for $100, then after the Buyer has authorized $100 in funds via a major credit card or PayPal account via the PayPal payment gateway, and the Seller accepts the offer, the following financial transactions occur.

A PayPal normal fee applies when the marketplace fee is greater than $10.00.
For example, if a Seller lists an item for $150, then after the Buyer has authorized $150 in funds via a major credit card or PayPal account via the PayPal payment gateway, and the Seller accepts the offer, the following financial transactions occur.

—Stripe Fee Example—
In the eXcesS Capacity marketplace fees are charged to the Seller only when the Seller accepts a payment authorized by the Buyer via Stripe for an item listed by the Seller for rent or for sale in the eXcesS Capacity marketplace. A Seller elects to offer Buyers payment via Stripe when the Seller wants to receive payment after exchanging a product or service with a Buyer. To initiate transfer of funds from the Buyer to the Seller, the Buyer must mark the order as completed, typically after they have received a product or service from the Seller.
The eXcesS Capacity Administration fee to the Seller is 10% of the total sale price. eXcesS Capacity Administration does not charge the Buyer any fees. Unlike PayPal, with Stripe no other fees are charged to the Seller.
When a Seller accepts payment authorized by the Buyer via Stripe for an item listed by the Seller for rent or for sale in the eXcesS Capacity marketplace, the entire payment amount less the eXcesS Capacity Administration fee is moved from the Buyer’s account to the Seller’s Stripe account. In a separate transaction the eXcesS Capacity Administration fee less Stripe’s fee is deposited into the eXcesS Capacity Administrator’s Stripe account.
