Savannah, GA – Mark Bruemmer, Founder and CEO of eXcesS Capacity, is one of eight finalists selected to present the eXcesS Capacity business opportunity in the FastPitch 2021 Competition at Service Brewing Company. Contestants were given 5 minutes each to present their businesses to a live audience post-pandemic COVID-19. Winners were selected through crowd voting via an app.

Contestants were given 4 minutes each to present their businesses followed by 4 minutes of questions by a “Shark Tank” panel of 5 judges.

Savannah, GA – Mark Bruemmer, graduate of Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center Startup Bootcamp, delivered a 5 minute pitch for eXcesS Capacity, an online marketplace platform for businesses trading idle resources, to a panel of 2 judges and audience at The Chromatic Dragon.
“We are developing our minimum viable product for the $40 Billion US heavy construction equipment rental industry using the open source Sharetribe marketplace platform”, he said. “Sharetribe enables sellers to list resources for rent, buyers to search for resources they want, to correspond with sellers, and to facilitate payment transactions between sellers and buyers. After resolving payment transactions sellers and buyers may rate each other”.
Mr. Bruemmer fielded questions from judges Clegg Ivey, a Savannah based entrepreneur with a background in IP/antitrust law and computer programming, and Greg Nicholson, an Atlanta based media and technology entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

“Our initial vertical market under the broad umbrella of businesses having excess capacity”, he explained “is the $40 Billion US heavy construction equipment rental industry”. Furthermore, “Our marketplace platform provides owners of heavy construction equipment additional revenue, gives contractors convenient, affordable access to that equipment and helps the community through sustainability by increasing utilization of existing resources”.
